Can I still use a trade that isn't approved?
Yes. Approval only decides who can appear to new customers. If you already use a trade, you can keep them in your address book and link to them whatever their status.
This is how trades are checked on Fixture. Every new trade on Fixture Pro is looked at by a person before it can appear in the directory. Gas and electrical trades wait until their registration has been checked. Checked means we looked; it doesn't mean we recommend them.
When a trade sets up Fixture Pro, it starts as pending. A person at Fixture looks at the business and either approves it, asks for more information, or turns it down. If a trade changes something important later, it goes back for another look.
A trade that isn't approved can still use Fixture Pro with its own customers. It just can't appear to anyone new.
Heating engineers and electricians are held automatically until they have a current Registered badge. We check the registration by hand before the badge is given, and the badge lapses when the registration's date passes.
A trade's public listing is reviewed before it goes live.
A review can only come from a household that had a job done, within 30 days of the job. A trade can't write its own reviews, and can't hide one it doesn't like.
Checked is not endorsed. We look at what a trade tells us and the documents it shows us. We don't watch their work, and we don't recommend one trade over another. Ask for a quote, ask questions, and choose the way you would with anyone.
Fixture's directory of new local trades isn't open yet. For now, add the people you already use, or link to a trade who sends you their Fixture Pro link.

The trade is told before the end date. If no new certificate or registration has been checked by then, the badge disappears, and a gas or electrical trade drops out of the directory until it's back.
You can report a review from its page. If you think a badge is wrong, reply to any email you've had from Fixture with the business's name, and a person will look at it. For anything to do with safety, contact the trade's registration scheme as well.
