Fixture Pro for heating engineers

For heating engineers: every boiler service, a year ahead

Heating engineers don't run a weekly round, but you do see the same boilers every year. Fixture Pro keeps those annual services coming round by themselves, lets your customers pick from the times you're actually free, and leaves room for the repair call that comes in on a cold Monday.

What a week looks like

An autumn week for a heating engineer, invented for this page, when the first cold snap fills the diary.

Example
  • MondayThree annual boiler services, each a yearly visit that arrived in your diary on its own.
  • TuesdayA gas safety certificate visit, booked by a customer at one of the free mornings you'd set.
  • WednesdayA boiler repair call-out slotted in as a one-off between two services.
  • ThursdayA customer asks to move next month's service. You pick a new day and theirs changes to match.
  • FridayMonday's customer pays by bank transfer and says so in their app. You confirm it from Money.

How a year of services works

Set a customer's service as a yearly visit, or every six months for the ones who want it, and the next date is always in the diary. No more digging through last year's invoices to see who's due in October.

Customers who keep their boiler service in their own Fixture maintenance list get a reminder when it's due. If they're linked to you, they can ask you for a visit from there and choose from the times you're free, and the booking lands in your diary.

Gas work and your registration

Gas and electrical work needs a current Registered badge before we can list you in Fixture's directory. A person checks your registration on the scheme's own public register before the badge is given, and the badge lapses when the registration's date passes.

The badge only says we've checked your registration. Until it's through, you can still use Fixture Pro with your own customers.

Services you can list

List the heating work you do. Until your Registered badge is through, these services stay out of the directory.

  • Boiler serviceAnnual boiler service.
  • Gas safety certificateLandlord gas safety check (CP12). People also search for this as gas safety engineer.
  • Boiler repairDiagnosis and repair.
  • Boiler installationA new boiler, supplied and fitted.
  • Power flushHeating system power flush.

Anything else you do, you can add as your own service with your own name for it.

What your customers get

  • A nudge before the service is dueTheir boiler service sits in their own maintenance list, with a reminder ahead of the date.
  • Your free times to choose fromInstead of phone tag, they pick from the mornings and afternoons you're actually free.
  • The visit on their calendarOnce you confirm, the job is on their week, and it's ticked off their list when you mark it done.
  • One place to ask you thingsMoving a visit or asking for another one is a request in the app, not a voicemail.

Questions heating engineers ask

Can customers book at a time that suits me?

Yes. A linked customer arranging a visit sees only the times your diary has free, and you confirm the one you want.

Will annual services stay in my diary?

Yes. A yearly visit keeps coming round from the date of the last one, and you can move any single visit without changing the rest.

When can I appear in the directory?

After a person has checked your gas registration and you have a current Registered badge. If the registration's date passes, the badge lapses and you drop out of the directory until it's renewed.

Can I use Fixture Pro before my badge comes through?

Yes. Your own customers can link to you and book with you straight away. The check only decides when you can appear to people who don't know you yet.
